Selena Gomez, and so much more!

by

We start off today with a game - which came first? The jukebox, or Cloris Leechman, who Rachael loves on DWTS of course, very limber for her years and all. Cloris! Rach says she has a bit of a thing for her, and we’re all a little disturbed. Hah.

Audio Cassette or Brad Pitt? She says Cassette, but they were both 1963, but the Cassette came out first, and Brad’s birthday is in December.

Wonderbra, or Selena Gomez? Actually, Selena came first, and she’s behind the screen, and comes out to meet the audience member, and she’s thrilled as her kids are gonna be so jealous. The prize is the jukebox! Wow. how come THATS not under the giveaway buttons? *L* They play a little mini game of what comes first - her or roller blades. She did… her or the internets, the web, of course. Her or texting - she did.

Rachael compliments her on how down to earth she is, and Selena credits her parents, as well as where she’s from, a small town in Texas. She can relate to the kids, she still has the chores and family life, taking out garbage and doing dishes. “Yup.” she says. Rach jokes and says she could do dishes there if she wants to feel at home - turned down, of course. Ha!

For her sweet sixteen she got to bring her friends to LA from Texas, and got a Hybrid car, but she can’t drive it because she doesn’t have her license yet. She’s taking Driver’s Ed, and takes her test on the 4th. What superpower would she have if she wanted? She says she’d like to rewind time, to redo any mistakes. Rach is impressed, as it’s a thinking woman’s answer. “!6 and smarter then me!” Selena admits to being a mixture between girly girl and a tomboy like her character. Her dad wanted a boy, so she dressed boyish till she was five, but she’s comfortable in both.

Her BFF is Demi, and Selena says it’s nice to have someone who understands all the madness they go through. They love the business, but they want to be normal teens too, and she says surprisingly she doesn’t get recognized a lot. She’ll go shopping and a girl will go “OMG is that Selena Gomez?” and her friend will go “No she wouldn’t wear that, let’s go.” Ha! Where did she and Demi meet? Doing Barney! And of course they have a clip, and Selena is laughingly embarrassed “We can stop that now!”

When asked her future goals, she says she wants to be happy, and make sure her family is healthy and happy, but for her career, she just wants to be successful and do it as long as possible. Selena is the Trick or Treat Unicef spokesperson this year, the youngest ambassador yet, and she considers it an honor. You can trick or treat with Unicef between the candy and it helps to teach the kids that sometimes even 5 cents can help a child in need.

Hit up the giveaway button for a chance at Another Cinderella Story, and its soundtrack!

Selena has to go, so we swing over to the kitchen were Evette has Pumpkin Carving tips. You can download some stencils for your pumkin there too!

After a quick trip backstage for Low Fat Flavor Tips, we’re back to check in with a viewer who’s struggling with her weight. Rachael says she doesn’t care what her weight is, as long as she’s still a siz 6 - she won’t get hung up on it. 32 year old Betty wasn’t so lucky, she’s been fighting her weight her whole life, weighing 270 pounds at her heaviest. She was humiliated at an amusement park when the bar wouldn’t fit down over her on a ride, and counts that as her turning part.

She knew she couldn’t do it on her own, and joined Weight Watchers. She’s lost 99 pounds, and has some more still, and the Lose for Good Campaign from WW is helping her get to her goal. She dates now, can get a size 10 off the wrack, and she’s discovered that she’s achieved all 25 things she wrote on her “Want” list when she began. She steps out on stage, and of course looks fantastic! With part of the Lose for Good campaign, every pound lost by a member, Weight Watchers donated the equivalent of one pound of food to organizations like Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. They’ve raised a million dollars, and WW members lost 4 million pounds. Betty says that she feels like a new person, the person she’s always wanted to be.

Rachael recently was invited to speak at the First Lady of California’s Women’s Conference. Maria Shriver hosted an inspiring day of speeches and networking for women, in effort to bring them all together, to help. Valerie Bertinelli interviewed her - and Rachael’s best advise: I think that if you love what you do, the magic part happens organically. Yo go to work and you work harder then the next guy because you love what you do. Never waste your time on things that you can’t change, or the opinions other people have of you.

And now - it’s Sufferin’ Succotawsh Stoup, made with the added stumbling block of not having any gas to cook with! Rachael succeeds of course, in a tiny space back stage. And that’s what’s for dinner tonight!
