Reporting from the road!

Hidey-ho, Rachael Ray watchers! I’m sitting here nice and relaxed in my friend’s air conditioned home, where I can see the Hollywood sign from her upstairs window, and listen to the COPS helicopters fly overhead on some manhunt of another. It’s AWESOME! I’m having a fabulous time, and wish you all could be here with me!
That said – let’s check in with our favorite dynamo! Wednesday’s show the new host of The Biggest Loser, Allison Sweeny from Days of our Lives. We’ve watched her for years on the soap opera (It’s ok, admit it, you like them too!) and saw some of her weight struggles on camera when she was younger because of it. She used to incorporate her baby son into her workouts, and do arm curls and triceps with him. Now that he’s a toddler, he joins her on walks and hikes. Her newest project (aside from The Biggest Loser, of course) has as a spokesperson for Gerber’s Graduates for Toddlers, which aims to educate parents about nutrition for their little babies.
Also! We saw proof that my big ole tomcat is NOT as fat as I thought he was – at least compared to the overweight animals they showed! A beagle named Scooby that weighs 70 pounds, and a cat named Sam that weighs 23 pounds – though I would have guessed a lot more then that as my cat is 17 pounds and well, is NOT that big. Maybe the camera adds weight like everyone always says it does… hahah!
Dr. Ernie Ward, a veterinarian and weight specialist says it’s mostly the treats that we give the kids, as the portion sizes are too big. Everything in moderation, kids, for us AND our pets! Things to check? You should be able to feel the ribs easily, and from the side, see see an abdominal tuck, not a sagging stomach.
Check with your vet before starting your portly pets on a diet though!
And let’s not forget What’s for dinner! Grrrrreat Chicken & Rice Cakes with Bacon, Chicken Ceasar Salad Stuffed Garlic Bread, Artichoke& Spinach Rolled Stuffed bread.
I’ll pop back in later and catch up, kids! Have fun – I know I am!
