Watching Rachael Ray

We start off the bat with our Kids to see what some of our school kids know about the election and what the issues are, and what they’ve learned. They have their ideas, including gas prices of $50 cents. Presidents rule, and make sure no one gets hurt - and they are pretty sure they wouldn’t have to listen to their moms if they were president! Then it’s to the kitchen for a snack right off the bat - as it’s Mystery Taster day - Fancy French Cheese Puff Fake-Out. She goes through the recipe - asking Patrick (Who originated the recipe) questions that he answers from the back, much to people’s amusement - then goes to show them what they look like finished? And discovers they haven’t finished them yet. Hahahah! Time for Mystery Taster Questions round 1!

First off - like cheese? LOVE cheese.
Elections around the corner, first time voted who was running for president. Voted for Jimmy Carter, but Regan won.
IF elected, shop for the gown or a tux for the ball - Loves a tux, but would wear a dress.

Next up - it’s Rach to the Rescue with Alex and Hung Huynh, winner of Top Chef 3, to help a gal in Dallas, Hilary, not be embarassed for her girlfriend brunch. She eats out for every meal, and doesn’t cook at all. She uses her oven… to store her boots! Can’t do that in MY house, my kids would set them on fire somehow. *L* - just like her friends that tried to make cookies, and baked the boots for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. HA! Her fridge is completely empty, and she’s the “Family - and brunch crew - shame!”

After they watch the message from Rachael, Hung and Hilary get busy whipping up a brunch to impress all her friends. The girls are a little skepticle, but willing to give it a try - and give him rave reviews! And of course, Alex is on hand to give her a Kenmore Elite Double Oven Range, so that she can continue to experiment in the kitchen, or store 8 pairs of shoes. Ha!

Yes indeedy! But Rach doesn’t believe she’s that old. Awww! They talk about family, and she teases her son about being new with the phone, and being nervous about answering it. And her little girl is learning to read. Her most recent success? She made fish! SHe’s lucky though, as her kids are easy to please.She broils chicken and broccoli, and they’re impressed!
