Garner some new undies!

Howdy, folks! Sorry I’m running a little late on these this week – both my mom and my sister had surgery on Tuesday morning, and things have been a little hectic around here as I shuttle back and forth between home and the hospital – they’re both recovering well, though, and things will get back up to speed around here asap, promise!
On Monday – the gorgeous Jennifer Garner entered the studio with Rachael to start the hour off with a bang! Jennifer looked stunning, as always, as she chided Rachael for not taking better care of her voice as Rachael struggled to be heard through her laryngitis and the loud applause. (No, suxors, they weren’t applauding the laryngitis, they were applauding Jennifer Garner! Sheesh! (g)) While Rach sipped on some tea, Jennifer ‘translated’ for Rachael and showed off some pictures. The one with her equally gorgeous hubby was prefaced with “So, I’m hanging around THIS guy for some reason…”
Well who WOULDN’T want to hang around with that guy?! She shared of her beginning gardening skills, which she shares with her daughter Violet, giving them much needed bonding time together as she shuttles between stage and screen. She’s currently working on Broadway in Cyrano De Bergerac and is also the ‘Face of the Flu’ this year, and reminds everyone to get your flu shots. You can also catch her in the new movie Juno, and she’ll be working with Matthew McConaughey and then with Ricky Gervais. Talk about Celeb Boyfriends…. Rawr!
Does your man wear the same ole boxers, the same ole underwear styles he has since he was a kid? One viewer shared the same delima and it resulted in a whole bunch of blushing on Rachael’s part and some very sexy mostly naked men. WHOO!
As if that weren’t hot enough – what’s for dinner? Braised Short Ribs with Roasted beets and creamy Polenta!

Hi!
What a great site!
I love Rachael Ray, she sounds just like my best friend!
I’m a little concerned about her hoarseness, she should have that checked out. Someone should be making her lots of tea and honey.
Also, I have a cooking question, maybe you know the answer to.
Rachael never rinses her cooked pasta under cold water like so many recipes say to do.
Would you know her “stand” on that?
All the best,

Susie,
Thanks for stopping by!
I think the answer to your cooking question about pasta is a matter of taste and preference. The reason to rinse pasta under cold water is to ’shock’ it, and stop the cooking process. If you cook your pasta like Rachael does, to an ‘al dente’ (Sp?) state, where it’s still got a little bite to it, it can continue to cook and stay warm as you put it together with the sauce. It keeps the meal hot and ready to eat in such a short time span.
Most of the recipes that ask for you to rinse the pasta that I’ve seen are for cold salads, or for dishes that will go into the oven or have further heating done to it, so that you don’t overcook the pasta and end up with mush.
Not sure if that’s her official take, but that’s what I do in my own kitchen!
Thanks again for visiting!
