Bobby Flay, Men in Trees and Dish!

As usual, Friday’s Dish has a done of good stuff for us! From Rosie O’Donnell’s newest book, Celebrity Detox to A Mighty Heart, just released on DVD, there’s something for everyone. All proceeds from Rosie’s book go to benefit Rosie’s Broadway Kids that brings musical theater to NYC public school children, and the idea of the book is that fame is like a tattoo, it never goes away, and Rosie suggests its time to detox from the excess of celebrity.
Ralph Lauren has a polo shirt out to help raise money for Breast Cancer research, launching “Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Wolrdwide – 100% of the proceeds go o fund research. Anne Heche talks about motherhood, and being on the set of Men in Trees, and how she tricks her son into expanding his menu by creative fibbing. Determined he didn’t like fish, she was able to tell him he did after he ate tacos that he thought were made with chicken. Score one for mom!
Last, but not least, Bobby Flay was also on hand Friday to give everyone a tour of his home kitchen, and talk a bit about Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill Cookbook which he’s extremely pleased with. After opening the Mesa Grill in New York 17 years ago, he adds that he’s glad he waited until now to do the cookbook, as a lot of the ingredients have changed over the years. Things that were foreign, such as blue corn chips for example, were relatively unknown – now we eat them right out of a bag. Timing is everything, of course!
