In wandering through the Food Network Ad Sales site thanks to a lil tip by my friend Google Alert who pointed me to Madeline who pointed me to the Food Network Addict, who THEN sent me to play around at the Food Network Ad Sales page (whew!), it looks as if Rachael Ray has a new special lined up for The Food Network.

Rachael’s Pet Special
A special catering to the many pet enthusiasts that exist today; covering the latest in cuisine for dogs, cats and at home pets and hosted by America’s favorite Food Network star, Rachael Ray. FN talent also has the chance to introduce their furry friends to the world.

Rachael Ray often mentions that she cooked for Boo, and now for Isaboo, and how she was disappointed to find some things her dogs loved were not good for them. I recently caught a rerun of one of her 30-minute meals that was a meal created around Boo’s favorite foods - if I remember right, it involved Yams, and they discovered Boo loved them after they accidentally dropped a tray from the oven on the floor and Boo turned vacuum cleaner!

With the recent scares with contaminated pet foods - this is a timely special indeed! Hopefully it will focus on what’s good ‘people food’ for our pets, and not just what they ‘like’ to eat!

Those that hated the first one, probably can find an awful lot to hate about this one too! Boo on them - I think it’s cute! Though that yawn could have been a little more convincing…

Every couple who’s been in it for the long haul hits those patches where you can’t remember the last time you spent any time together alone. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from working with food guru Rachael Ray, it’s that cooking is fun, and it’s impossible not to be in a good mood when you are preparing a meal together. Think about it: You’re side by side, brushing past each other to get to the sink or the stove. A glass of wine for the sauce, another for the cooks, and feeding each other take things to another level. Download romantic tunes to your iPod that you can play in the kitchen, and don’t stop yourself if you’re inspired to slow dance.

We love him on Rachael Ray show, where he’s been somewhat a regular, including helping her by working the Kids Choice awards for the Show - and now, if you’re in Tucson Monday or Tuesday, you can see him up close and personal!

The Arizona Daily Star mentions this segment from the Rachael Ray Show:

Then goes on to try and get the secret of the trick from Justin himself via telephone.

So just how did the buzz-worthy 26-year-old magician who hails from St. Louis do it, you wonder?

“Oh that’s a simple matter of none of your business,” he explained ever so politely.

OK, so what about that trick with the wedding ring and the keys?

“Pretty much the same as the grapefruit. I’m not going to tell you,” he said during a quick call from California.

Actually, if he told us, it would spoil the fun.

“You would just be let down. It would just not be as good as you want it to be,” he said. “That’s why straight across the board, I just can’t tell you.”

In the June/July Everyday with Rachael Ray Magazine, they held another taste testing review - this time to find the best cool Summer Treat, the best brand of Popsicles! The overall winner?

Dreyer’s/Edy’s Fruit Bars!

The competition was stiff, but our panel put these bars (known as Dreyer’s in the western U.S. and Edy’s in the East) on top for their natural taste and real bits of fruit. “It tastes like frozen fruit puree,” said one judge. Unlike many brands, this one flavors its bars with real fruit and fruit juice — and sweetens with sugar, not corn syrup. Out of 14 flavors, the cherry proved most popular: “It’s almost sorbetlike.”

Television’s perky chef reached far beyond the kitchen this year, following the empire-building blueprint of her mentor Oprah. Her new daytime talk show has landed tough gets like Bill Clinton and Michael J. Fox, and she presides over a bimonthly magazine. Ray also boasts endorsement deals with Nabisco and Dunkin’ Donuts, and maintains top billing on the Food Network.

Of course, the naysayers and suxors will be certain to complain not only that she made the list - but that Rachael Ray was on the list under the category “Chef”! Got to give them something to complain about, right?

Tonight, we decided to make the Meatza Pizza burgers that we found in Rachael Ray Top 30 30-Minute Meals, Kid Food. I included the recipe after the ‘more’ tag for those who want it.

Prep for this was ridiculously easy, and I don’t think it qualifies as a 30 minute meal, as the burgers can be pulled together in about 20 or so. I did use ground chorizo sausage mixed up with the ground beef, and dried spices (all but the minced garlic I had on hand. Jarred.) - but fresh wouldn’t have taken much longer at all.

We did discover a problem, however. Our burgers fell apart before we could flip them. Not sure if it’s because of the moistness of the sausage, or what, but they started to crumble. So! Being the industrious mom that I am, we just let them crumble, and tossed the mixture into the pot with our Rice a Roni cheesy rice we were having with the burgers. All mixed up together it was like a psuedo hamburger helper with a TON of taste.

In fact, I’ve never seen my 8 year old clean her plate so fast! It also got my nephews and niece’s seal of approval!

So - Meatza Pizza burgers (turned crumble with Cheesy Rice a Roni)? A total win all the way around! And now that they’re back outside playing, I can plop the rest of the crumbled burger/chorizo mixture onto a bun and munch away happily. Ha!

I had high hopes when I heard Rachael Ray was wearing a long black gown tonight. I thought she most certainly would have gotten her buddies from the show to help her pick a good one!

Alas, all my hopes were in vain. Now folks all over the net are going to be dogging her for being fat, and so on and so forth - but she’s a normal sized woman and I’m all about that. But she so could have done better…

WWD.com announced today that there’s been another shakeup at Reader’s Digest Association. Siobhan Hardy, the creative director of Every Day with Rachael Ray since it’s launch has left.

[Hardy will] be married this week and plans to move to France in July. Hardy will be replaced by outgoing Redbook creative director Tracy Everding, who starts on June 25.

Don’t forget! The 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from Hollywood TONIGHT at 9pm on CBS.

Daytime talk-show host Rachael Ray tries her hand at prime time as the host of Friday’s 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Daytime Emmys are handed out in 58 categories, though only those awards that are handed out in high-profile categories, like best soap opera and best daytime talk show, will be shown.

The night’s presenters include Barbara Walters, Alex Trebek, Ellen DeGeneres, Tyra Banks, All My Children’s Thorsten Kaye and Cameron Mathison, and Phil Donahue, who once had his own daytime talk show but is now working the lecture circuit.

Not only is Rachael Ray the host - but she’s also up for 7 Emmy’s for The Rachael Ray Show!

The Day-Time Emmy show is THIS Friday!

Ever wonder what the presenters are going to get in their (not so little) gift baskets? Well wonder no more! This year the stars are getting some seriously good loot!
